Overview
Beim dem Projekt "EÜ-Kalenberg" handelt es sich um einen Neubau einer Eisenbahnüberführung im Bahnbereich 2631.
Die bestehende EÜ an der Virginiastr. (48.125km) ist abgängig und muss erneuert werden. Die Stadt Mechernich hat hier einen Aufweitungswunsch der kreuzenden Straße geäußert. Diesem Wunsch kann mit dem Neubau der geplanten EÜ entsprochen werden. So wird die neue Eisenbahnüberführung in km 47,809 in Seitenlage hergestellt und in einer Sperrpause in das Eisenbahnnetz eingeschoben.
Im Rahmen einer weiteren Sperrpause im Jahr 2026 wird die abgängige EÜ-Virginiastr. verfüllt.
