GIZ awarded a contract to AFC Agriculture and Finance Consultants GmbH on 29 June 2026 to continue implementing the PARIZON project in Mali's Office du Niger zone, focusing on sustainable food systems transformation through agroecological transition. The scope covers two axes: supporting agroecological rice production, diversification of family farming systems, and market linkages in the Office du Niger region; and establishing a national Transformation Initiative to support food systems change at national level through multi-stakeholder collaboration and pilot projects. The project runs through March 2028 with a total budget of EUR 8.2 million, reaching approximately 10,000 people including producers, rice processing enterprises, and service providers, with emphasis on women and youth participation.
