Los certificados del buque Luz de Mar expiran en diciembre, incluyendo el de fin de especial que obliga a sacar del agua el barco cada cinco años para renovarlo, además, aprovechando dicha varada se procederá a realizar trabajos de pintura de casco y cubierta, mantenimientos de maquinaria y propulsores, valvulería de fondo y trabajos que en condiciones normales darían inoperatividad del buque. Para poner el barco en seco es imprescindible contar con un varadero/astillero adecuado a los trabajos a realizar y las dimensiones del buque objeto de este contrato.
