Gemeinde Baltmannsweiler awarded Telekom Deutschland GmbH a service concession contract valued at €955,602.85 on 26 May 2026 for the deployment and operation of a gigabit-capable broadband network and the provision of broadband telecommunications services to underserved addresses in the municipality under the Gap Closure Programme (Lückenschluss-Programm) pursuant to the Gigabit Guidelines 2.0. The procurement was conducted as a single-stage negotiated procedure without prior competitive dialogue, with funding from the federal Gigabit Guidelines programme and co-financing from Baden-Württemberg state.
