Overview
Die Fraunhofer Gesellschaft baut am Standort Münster ein eigenständiges Forschungsinstitut zur Forschung an Batteriezellen und deren Produktion auf - die Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle Münster (kurz FFB). Im Rahmen des Aufbauprozesses werden an der FFB prismatische Batteriezellen entwickelt und auf einer eigens für diesen Zweck installierten Produktionslinie gefertigt. Für die Entwicklung des prismatischen Batteriezelldesigns werden im Laufe der Validierung mehrere hundert bis tausend Prototypenzellen gefertigt. Für diesen Zweck benötigt die FFB 10.000 prismatische Batteriezellgehäuse im selbst entwickelten Design (s. technische Zeichnung, Kapitel 2.1 der Leistungsbeschreibung).
