Overview
The National Oceanography Centre has awarded a contract to DM HABENS (THE BUILDER) LIMITED on 7 July 2026 for the supply and installation of approximately 35–40 replacement FD60-rated fire doors and associated door sets within the main stairwell areas of its building as Phase 1 of a phased fire safety improvement programme. The scope includes removal of existing doors, supply of complete certified door assemblies with frames, seals, glazing, ironmongery, and self-closing mechanisms, installation to manufacturer specifications, and full testing and certification to BS 476-22 or BS EN 1634-1 standards via approved third-party schemes.
