- Published
- Published 16 March 2026
Overview
The Contractor will deliver a comparative through life emissions assessment of different propulsion technologies for domestic vehicles on the UK transport system projected to 2030, 2040 and 2050 based on the projected UK energy mix.
The aim of the study is to determine whether supporting the use of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles and the corresponding commitment to production volume hydrogen, corresponding cost base reduction and provision of infrastructure produce a net positive impact on the through life emissions footprint of fuel cell electric vehicles when compared to other options such as traditional petrol/diesel combustion and battery electric vehicles.
Therefore, the analysis must determine the optimum way to consider a comparative analysis where the future UK energy mix out to 2050 has uncertainties.
