Design and Setup of Testing Rig to pressure test 12mm, 14mm and 28mm OD Stainless Steel Tubes

This requirement is for pressure testing of rotary friction welded joints to the cryopanels provided by Kuka. Pressure testing is required to verify the rotary friction welded joint strength. Kuka Systems UK, being the original equipment manufacturer, have generated the pressure testing procedure in parallel with their Subcontractor. The Subcontractor are able to provide the service and fit in with Kuka’s schedule to keep the urgency required for the friction welded cryopanels delivery into contract 14688 (Manufacture of DBB Cryopump) programme, itself already a challenging schedule.
