Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Intervention

Published
Published 5 May 2025

Overview

The Cumbria Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (the Commissioner) intends to commission a programme of voluntary interventions with perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse and those at risk of becoming perpetrators of such abuse. This preventative and early intervention programme will take a holistic approach working with perpetrators, victims and their families using restorative principals to prevent and reduce incidents of low to medium-level domestic abuse. It will provide structured group work, individual work, or a combination of both, where perpetrators are challenged to recognise abuse & reflect on their own behaviour and its impact. Programmes can be tailored to respond to the needs of specific groups, whilst delivering a Service Model which is flexible to engage with and meet often complex individual needs.
