Overview
Derbyshire has been awarded funding through Government's Safer Roads Fund to install safety improvement along the Via Gellia, some of which include Speed Management Measures in the form of average speed cameras. The aim is to make all the cameras 'live' so enforcement of the full extent of the speed zones can occur and hence a reduction in collision casualties can be achieved through lower travel speeds when this becomes more widely known. Hence, power connections need to be made to each of the live camera sites.
