Outdoor Big Screen events

Overview

London Borough of Merton currently procures big screens from companies for one off events including major sport events and occasional film screenings. The popularity of these free events has lead to there being a desire to have a more permanent solution in place across the borough that can provide big screen events. Big screens are a way of increasing footfall into our parks and town centres. The big screens also provide access to major sporting and cultural events where families may have limited access to these events otherwise. The focus of the screens will be on showing major sporting and cultural events. Strategically the Council is working towards becoming the Borough of Sport and enabling free access to sporting events for families is another way of extending this offer.
