Overview
Local Planning Authorities are required to take ecology and biodiversity into account when making an assessment of a planning application. The Ecology Team at Leicestershire County Council provides specialist ecological advice to support this function on behalf of several partner districts and boroughs in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland and to the in-house County planning services.
As a result of statutory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) there has been an increase in our service requirements to partners, to provide BNG advice in addition to our previous advice for protected species and habitats. This contract opportunity is to provide ecological consultancy support to support this growth in service.
