HWRC Operation and Management

The Council seeks a contractor to manage and operate its Household Waste Recycling Centre network across 6 to 7 sites. The contract involves delivering comprehensive HWRC services, optimizing performance to maximize recycling, reuse, and composting while minimizing residual waste, and supporting the development of commercial income streams related to materials and reuse. Additionally, the contractor will handle materials offtake and overall waste management. This opportunity forms part of the Council’s efforts to improve waste management services and establish new HWRC locations. The contract duration is eight years, with a potential break clause around the four-year mark linked to Local Government Reorganisation.
