The Provision of Cambridge City Centre District Heat Network

Cambridge City Council seeks a partner to join an established collaboration for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a new low-carbon district heating network in the city centre. The network will utilize air source and river source heat pumps, supplemented by electric boilers to meet peak heat demand, replacing traditional gas boilers. The project involves metering and billing services and is developed in partnership with the County Council and 19 academic institutions with significant heating needs. The successful partner will contribute to delivering the initial phase of the network through a joint venture and support the strategic goal of expanding the system citywide. This opportunity aims to establish a sustainable heating solution in a globally significant city.
